Day 64: 2020-05-20 : Getting Mucky in Kentucky.
Today’s predictions have revealed Peru rising case numbers have now placed the country second most at risk in our global predictions. After Indonesia being at the top of the lust for three weeks South America is now appearing to be one of the epicentres of the pandemic with Brazil at number one followed by Peru. All the other countries in the top ten list remain in the same positions as yesterday.
Meanwhile in France which was one of the hardest hit countries in Europe alone with Italy, Spain and the UK, they may be experiencing the start of a second wave already. Just a week after many school reopened in France, 70 coronavirus cases have been discovered in classrooms across the country, leading to preschools and elementary schools being closed by the authorities again.
In the USA the top five states at most predicted risk of coronavirus spread remain the same, but case numbers in Kentucky are predicted to be on the rise. At fifth currently on the list numbers are predicted to rise after 20 new coronavirus-related deaths were recorded yesterday - the highest number announced in a single day - bringing the state’s death toll to 366 the day before non-essential retail businesses are allowed to reopen. There is also confusion in the government leading to a political head to head between Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin who has warned of “permanent damage to the US economy” if lockdowns are extended for months, and the Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell, who said a full recovery would not come until the health crisis is solved. Seems a bit like a chicken and the egg situation.
South America stays the same from yesterday except for the numbers in Peru being predicted to rise, with Africa and Sweden also remaining constant as well.
