Day 65: 2020-05-25 : Coronavirus… Could You Be Next?
After taking a slight break for a Swedish National Holiday we are back with our daily coronavirus update. A lot of changes have taken place in our global predictions with Indonesia now back at the top of the list, although they have experienced a comparatively low number of fatalities up to this point our data predicts this unfortunately remain the case forever. Brazil and Peru are still high on the list as well indicating they are at very vulnerable to the spread of the pandemic in the near future. Saudi Arabia has also jumped up suddenly to spot number three, even though they also have a low number fo fatalities with a current total under 400. Kuwait, Vietnam and Ecuador have fallen off the global list completely and instead been replaced by Egypt, Nicaragua and Pakistan.
In the US this week Louisiana and Kentucky have extracted themselves from the top five states at risk. Instead our data predicts Arkansas and Indiana are now increasing in risk of experiencing a surge in coronavirus cases. Indiana reported 12 new deaths yesterday alone, meanwhile country-wide in the USA the death toll is almost at 100,000.
South and Central America’s predictions are showing Nicaragua in the top five for the first time, and Bolivia is no longer in the top five countries at risk. Nicaragua’s government, like the regime in Brazil, downplayed the virus and attempted to sit out he pandemic but now the pandemic has hit one of the poorest countries in Latin America with full force. On Tuesday, Health Minister Martha Reyes announced that the number of confirmed and probable infections had grown tenfold, from 25 to 254, over the past week. The official toll is already enough to provoke concern, but many experts say it does not reflect the true extent of the pandemic in Nicaragua. Brazil and Peru are still on top of the list, as they have been for a while now, as the case numbers continue to rise.
The predictions for Africa are relatively similar with the same five countries at the highest predicted risk, only in a slightly different order. Egypt is now at the top of the list followed by Sudan which was fifth in our past report. Instead South Africa now sits at the spot number five.
In Sweden Uppsala makes a return once again to the regions most at risk and is now sitting at spot number two, with Dalarna currently predicted to be the most at risk county.
We are sending our thoughts to those in high risk areas, please take care.
