Day 59: 2020-05-12 : Coronavirus Is Driving Us All Crazy

Indonesia has now been at the top of our global list of predictions for 3 weeks. Over 1000 deaths have been reported but from our data it seems that the predicted spread is far from reaching its peak. Otherwise everything has remained the same in today’s maps. The USA has been slowly keeping down the list over the past couple of months which could be read as the severity of the spread easing, or the nations that have now risen above it or simply at more risk from the volatile pandemic. Either way the end seems far from in sight and it’s safe to say that the global lockdown is driving everyone crazy. Every nation but Sweden entered or is still in a serious quarantine to prevent the spread but worries continue that as restrictions relax public spaces will be flooded and a second wave will spread panic and disease once again.

In Sweden, Uppsala has moved up and down in our data prediction pretty much constantly. This could possibly be due to the proximity of the city to Stockholm and the fact that it is a large university city with a fair amount of international students.  However, Stockholm has stayed off the list depicted most predicted spread for a week and hopefully this means that the peak has been or is near to being reached. This would be in line with the predictions from other sources that herd immunity will be reached in the capital by mid-May.

We are sending our thoughts to those in high risk areas, please take care.
