No AI without design!

Customers want AI but need design to understand

Nowadays, it is actually difficult for people to know if they are interacting with a human or software. As AI is becoming exponentially more advanced, the software interface people interact with needs to improve at the same pace. This is requiring faster software development cycles where design and UX have become key to make AI user friendly.

To make this possible, there can’t be internal silos. Close cross-collaboration between different disciplines is key to make new AI technology used at all by anyone. The purpose of design and UX is simply put, simplicity.

One would think that constantly updated technology and interfaces would confuse the user. This assumption is correct and is exactly why it is crucial to make small changes fast and often, rather than perfecting one massive change. This iterative process is by many called “sprints”. There is a balance to strike here, and the objective should always be to maximise the added customer-value of new features. Otherwise it’s money in the bin.
